The App Launcher is a simple plug-in provides the ability to launch any application within MPLAB X IDE. The App Launcher provides default applications but you can configure any number of applications.

Launching the App Launcher Plug-in

First, install the launcher plug-in under the MPLAB X IDE. (For installation instructions for plug-ins, refer to the MPLAB X IDE Help, Additional Tasks, Add Plug-In Tools.) Then, navigate to Tools>Embedded>App Launcher, to open the App Launcher.

On Windows™, the App Launcher window displays on left-hand side of the MPLAB X IDE and contains the default applications (Notepad, MsPaint, Calculator and MPLAB IPE). On Linux® and Mac OS™ systems, the launcher is pre-populated with only the MPLAB IPE.

Note: The App Launcher opens in a tabbed window in MPLAB X IDE.

To install App Launcher Plugin, download this extension and open it. It should install into Atmel Studio. Please make sure you have the necessary version of Atmel Studio installed in your PC.
